Training Experience & Law Enforcement Career

Lindauer began his police career in 2017 at a large police department in Virginia.  After graduating the academy as top shooter and top academic recruit, he spent three years on midnight patrol.  He was then selected to a specialty unit that primarily worked street level narcotics.  Upon the dissolution of that unit he was selected to another specialty unit as a detective.  This street crimes unit (called the “jump out boys'' on the street) was designed to achieve a city-wide violent crimes initiative and focused primarily on gangs, guns, and violent crime.  The unit is a hybrid of tactical and investigative as officers and detectives were tasked with taking lead on cases but also apprehending their own suspects.  The unit is intelligence driven, and uses non-traditional policing methods such as physical, remote, or electronic surveillance, confidential informants, plainclothes operations, tracking and apprehending wanted individuals, and search warrants; as well as working with other agencies.  Operations with other agencies include FBI, Homeland Security (HSI), DEA, ATF, U.S. Marshals, NCIS, State Police, numerous other local agencies, as well as assisting Homicide, Robbery, Warrant & Fugitive, Special Victims, Narcotics, and other detective units with cases.  During his time on the unit, Lindauer was often required to conduct high risk surveillance, vehicle takedowns, search warrants, arrest warrants, and open-air takedowns.

While serving at this department, Lindauer had additional collateral duties as a Designated Marksman, a member of the Mobile Tactics Unit, a member of the Civil Disturbance Response Team, and a Field Training Officer (FTO).  Due to the assignments to patrol and to the specialized units, Lindauer has a vast amount of experience with critical incidents and dealing with some of the most violent offenders in society.  During his time at that department, Lindauer was given two lifesaving awards and was selected as officer of the quarter in 2020.  Lindauer is a Gang Specialist (Virginia Gang Investigators Association) and has extensive training regarding police investigations and tactics.

Lindauer’s time as a student began prior to his law enforcement career in 2014 when he took his first class (Fighting Pistol) at Tactical Response in Camden, Tennessee.  He has since taken over 30 classes (outside of what was provided by any employers) by many different schools and instructors.  Most classes focused on live fire, emergency medical, Force-on-Force, or team tactics. Lindauer has designed his classes to teach the most effective Mindset, Tactics, and Skill he has learned over his training and professional career in the most efficient way possible.
